Billy swings at junk on strike 3.

Got 2... a good start... but the offense can't go into hibernation mode.

and parra cant crap out after 5 1/3 ip either. id like to see him get 6-7 ip today.

Under Ned's new pitch rest sequence, he can have 120 pitches and an extra day off!

No! Weeks is about to end his 4th year. He also had a cup of coffee in 2003. He has more than enough time to prove himself, and he looks worse defensively than ever, and still can't hit for crap.

When he hopefully leaves, I hope he drags Bill Hall along with him. Another strikeout artist, and horrible in the field. As I write this, Hall strikesout yet again! What else is new?

I get really frustrated when Bill Hall is in the lineup.

hopefully in sept we get to see what gamel can do

Your crazy if you think they are going to throw Gamel at 3B in Sept in the middle of a pennant race....no way

yea i no way shape or form think parra should be throwing 120 pitches. lol i should have said 6-7 ip with a resonable pitch count. how foolish of me.

No, he's in his third year of service time.

You cannot count these years as full years when they're not full years.

So according to Ned, every 20 pitches equals one day off?
Baseball is a game of the long season, of relentless and gradual averaging-out. Irrelevance—since the reference point of most individual games is remote and statistical—always threatens its interest, which can be maintained not by the occasional heroics that sportswriters feed upon but by players who always care; who care, that is to say, about themselves and their art. Insofar as the clutch hitter is not a sportswriter's myth, he is a vulgarity, like a writer who writes only for money.

Gamel cannot do much worse than Hall. Whats the difference?

Oh, I hear you! I actually feel the same way about Parra learning to pitch deep efficiently.

I just wanted another chance to knock Yost's stupid pitch count comments.

    Good question.

Anyone have Attanasio's or Melvin's email?

I'd like to send them an email asking them to publish their organizational research on Yost's pitching plan.

This brings up a good question overall, though:

If Gamel is called up for September, he needs to be placed on the 40-man roster.

Would that month on the 40-man count against him as an option year?

Weeks has played in 4 full years counting this year. If you count 2003, then make it 5 years. 1528 at bats should give you all that you need to know.

Another double play chance, and Weeks again fails to get the guy going to 1st.
