    For the Harrell bust predictors....

Ok sports fans.  I posted this in another thread, but I think it deserves its own.  I am going to post to you some stuff on a current Packer that is on the Roster.  I want to see if anyone of you can guess who this is. It shows you that you can't always tell how a player is going to project to the NFL.

Here is the scouting report on Harrell....Scouting Report

     This is the Unknown Packer....

     What others are saying...

Armey, St. Louis: "He's a third-, fourth-rounder. He's all right."

Snead, Tennessee: "The guy works out really well. He doesn't play particularly strong and he's not particularly tough. He doesn't play like he works out."

Butler, Buffalo: "He's got a lot to show me he can play. Lacks ability."

Ron Hughes, Detroit: "He's an athlete who doesn't play to his numbers. He's big. He's tough."

Bill Polian, Indianapolis: "He's all right. He's not terrible."

I'm ready for a different chance, I've seen his show for a decade, and it's gotten old, and every episode ends the same, with the gun slinger shooting the wrong guy. -aegisfc August 2008

"If Brett is not the starting QB for the Packers next season I will not support the Packers. If Brett joins another team including both the hated Bears and Vikings, I will support them. I will not be Packer Fan again til Ted Thompson and Mark Murphy are fired. Which wont be long after that cuz out team will fall apart and all out good players will want out of Dodge.I'd rather have Mike Sherman, Ray Rhodes, Lindy Infante or any other old Packer's Brass before rooting for team run by arrogant ungrateful ingrates. At least they were trying to to what was best for the team. Not what is best for the egos." Ace_Maverick July 2008

Actually the player in Question is Chad Clifton.  Surprised?

     So what's your point?

That a middle second rounder has been far more productive than a first round bust?

     Good job.

No, my point is asswipe, that you can't always be right about a players quality, until you get them on your team.  There are others out there that don't grade out well, that turn out to be good players, and there are players that grade out well that don't.  And that having 20/20 hindsight is a ton easier to grade a draft than on draft day.

So teams just read all the reviews before the draft and go by what other people say?

Apparently packer management evaluated Clifton on there own, and were correct.

It's okay to miss a draft pick.  It happens all the time.  It happened with Harrell.

The really interesting thing is in looking at the contradictory opinions from just that small sample of personnel guys. One guy says he's tough, one says he's not. One says he's lacking ability while another says he doesn't play to his athletic ability. Says a lot about the inexact nature of drafting/personnel evaluation.

That's my point.  Now imagine if Harrell was drafted by someone else, and played well, we would invariably have the same asswipes come on this board and lament that we passed him by for someone else.  There are a ton of players out there with injury historys (Adrian Peterson) come to mind right off the bat, and you don't hear ANY of those same asswipes lamenting that pick.   Anyone consider him a bust?

Comparing Justin Harrell to Adrian Peterson?

Adrian Peterson produced more in one game than Harrell has produced since being drafted.

To this point, Harrell has been a bust.  There is no other way to look at it.

Perhaps in the future he will turn it around, but as of now, he's a bust.

Yes I am comparing Justin Harrell with Adrian Peterson.  Both had history's of injury in college, and both have been injured in the NFL.  Yet one is considered a bust, and the other isn't.  Funny how that works out doesn't it.

If you are honestly comparing them, you're a complete idiot.

How many games did Adrian Peterson miss last year?  In college?  How many did Harrell miss last year?  In college?  Production?

Anybody could see that Harrell has been injured practically the entire time that he's been playing football.

Wow!!!!  Adrian Peterson = Justin Harrell  Wow!!!!

You get 20/20 hindsight to make your choice.

Adrian Peterson was injured all through college, just like Harrell.  Both injured, both with upsides, one pans out one does not.  Yet asswipes like yourself CLAIM that there was enough information to make the call.

I know that rational thought and simple analogies are hard for you to get, but please try to keep up.

Adrian Peterson missed seven games in college.

THIS LINK shows why you are an idiot.

Big difference....Adrian Peterson tore up the combine....Harrel didn't.  When Peterson did play in college...he showed a huge upside...big play potential...so much so..he was talked about being a possible #1 overall pick in the NFL draft for a few years.  Ummm Harrel was mentioned at all by anyone.  He was a good player in college.  Also how many of you went "who" when Harrel was picked?  Many I assume.
