There's nothing wrong with Parra's numbers throughout the full season.

He is the most valuable pitcher on our staff behind Sheets for the entire season, and Sheets and Sabathia since the trade.

But there is a distinct progression of his numbers, and there is a reality about how his inefficiency affects his workload and results during certain stretches.

Regression or not, by my standards his numbers are, at best, OK. A WHIP of 1.5 is pretty dangerous.

The point that incurred Robert's wrath was a statement that I wasn't too optimistic about Parra tonight. I am hoping he can get through 5 innings while keeping the team in the game.

My wrath (not as harsh as I intended) was directed more toward your pessimism vs my optimism (overall) Blue, all in good fun. Go Manny! Go Brewers!

I'm trying very hard to tell myself that a win tonight would be gravy.

I may even convince myself of that if I keep at it.

This isn't a big series, and this game is rather small in the large scheme.

I hate stupid two game series at the end of Augist -- we can't control anything against the Cards after this, and there's plenty of time for the results of this series to correct themselves.

Robert,  some people prefer to look at and make the case of the 80% chance of us making the playoffs.  Some people prefer to look at and make the case of the 20% chance of us not making the playoffs.  I'm like you, I dont need a "reality check" ALL THE TIME.    I know that if we lose all the rest of our games we will finish 77-85, but it doesnt stop me from looking at the rest of our season realistically and saying we have alot better chance of making the playoffs than not

While I agree in principle Radio, I still can't help but think we bury them a little bit deeper with a W tonight.

     Big wide zone tonight.

That first pitch to Rickie called a strike was way out there.

Wonder if that will hold, because Manny could sure use the help.

    We'll see.

It's not that we don't bury them a little bit deeper, it's just that they have a considerable amount of time to dig themselves back out.

Is it just me, or does Yadier play a little game where he moves around to locations behind the plate that the pitch isn't going to just to try and fool the hitter with the setup and then counts on his athleticism to get back and get the ball where it's pitched?

I caught that last night too, and he just did it again with Braun. Either the pitchers routinely miss their spots by a ton, or there is some fun being had there.

Yadier is very busy behind the plate.

I like the way he plays.

I didn't think that pitch was a strike watching the broadcast, then Gameday showed it a good 6 inches inside.

It didn't amount to anything... but it was very nice to see him add quite a few pitches to Wainwright's total.  He's up to 18 now.

This is just really cool. Being so excited about a game in late August is just sweet. I hope there's plenty more to come.

He is really zoned in right now.

BTW, that zone really does look wide. GameDay has the called third strike an entire ball-width inside.
