So whaddya think?
I think it's inspired... as opposed to DOH'Bama's pick.
Which was - in a word...
BORING!!!
This will at the very least get constituents attention.
And attention = interest.
Which is what really counts at this time of year.

I think there's a substantial pro-life / soccer Mom demo out there thats THRILLED with McCain's choice.
Plus she's more conservative than McCain - which he needed badly.
Can't see how the Dems can attack her lack of experience - though they'll certainly try.
Inexperience and a brief resume is OK for the Commander in Chief but not OK for the VP?
Doesn't wash...

20 mos running Alaska vs 40 mos in the Senate?
I don't think that Palin's level of experience lends itself well to being a heartbeat away....less of an issue with a younger candidate, but McCain is 72. 72 isn't "old" old these days, but after two <60 yr old boomers over the past 16 years, it LOOKS old.
Of course, I'm sure enough people have been convinced that Obama is a movie star Muslim terrorist that it won't matter.
Now you can say that Ive grown bitter, But of this you can be sure The rich have got their channels in the bedrooms of the poor And theres a night of judgement coming... But I may be wrong; Ya see I hear these funny voices in the Tower of Song

jimmythegreek:...the fact that she actually enacted legislation that halted a major pork spending project...
If you're talking about The Ketchikan-Gravina "bridge to nowhere", her own words indicate slightly otherwise:
Governor Sarah Palin today directed the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities to look for the most fiscally responsible alternative for access to the Ketchikan airport and Gravina Island instead of proceeding any further with the proposed $398 million bridge.
“Ketchikan desires a better way to reach the airport, but the $398 million bridge is not the answer,” said Governor Palin. “Despite the work of our congressional delegation, we are about $329 million short of full funding for the bridge project, and it’s clear that Congress has little interest in spending any more money on a bridge between Ketchikan and Gravina Island,” Governor Palin added. “Much of the public’s attitude toward Alaska bridges is based on inaccurate portrayals of the projects here. But we need to focus on what we can do, rather than fight over what has happened.” The Department of Transportation has approximately $36 million in federal funds that will become available for other projects with the shutdown of the Gravina Island bridge project.
To me that sounds a bit more like "the feds won't cough up the bulk of the money so let's forget it."

Apples and Oranges here. Palin's 20 months as governor of Alaska afforded her the opportunity to gain executive experience. She successfully led the Alaska national guard, which has repelled both the russians and n koreans during her term. Her second place finish in the 1984 Miss Alaska Pageant proves she has survived pressure packed situations.
Palin's pick by McCain was no less pandering than O'bama's selection of Biden. Biden was obviously chosen in an attempt to shore up Obama blatant lack foreign policy experience even after Biden stated that Obama was not ready to lead. Get ready for a barage of ads with that sound bite. Being too stubborn to choose Hillary may cost him election. Palin was chosen to go after those Hillary voters, but she also could play a pivotal role in developing energy policy. I think her insistance on opening ANWR will play well to the electorate, and her conservative philosophy will re-energize that portion of the GOP base that's been snoozing through the primaries.

Is this satire? There are...well, a couple..reasons to defend Palin but these ain't it.

Probably 100% accurate. I do have to say that at least Biden is a qualified pres-level pol on his own terms, something you can't say about Palin.

I don't see that so much; the analysis I've been reading is that Palin give Hillary a chance to endear herself to the Dem power base by serving as a "sexism-proof" attack dog on Palin.
And to say that drilling in ANWR is a slam-dunk GOP move is a bit divorced from reality IMO.

Bottom line - VP's are picked to shore up perceived weaknesses or deliver electoral votes - in short to get the presidential candidate elected.
But I gotta give you props for a Spot (no pun intended) on characterization of Billary CM.

IF you repeat a lie often enough - some gullible constituents will accept it.
Doesn't make it the "truth".
