Brewers could learn from Mike Schmidt's advice

    http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/preview?gameId=280906121

I was looking for the pitching matchups and rescheduling of the Phiilie-Mets game for tomorrow, and came across some comments in an e-mail that Former 3X MVP, 12X All-Star, World Series Winner and Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt sent to the team.  Talk about a guy with credibility.  I think it is fantastic advice that he gave, and I really think the Brewers would do well to listen to it.

"One pitch, one at bat, one play, one situation, think 'small' and 'big' things result, tough at-bats, lots of walks, stay up the middle with men on base, whatever it takes to 'keep the line moving' on offense, 27 outs on defense, the Mets know you're better than they are," Schmidt wrote.

"They remember last year. You guys are never out of a game. Welcome the challenge that confronts you this weekend. You are the stars. Good luck. #20."

Yosty (YO-stee) n. A collection of games that the Brewers have lost , where you can look at a piece or pieces of management by Ned Yost and reasonably and logically conclude (based on conventional baseball wisdom and factual information available at the time) that he should have done something differently that could, along with other factors, possibly have changed the outcome of the game.

     Stupid Mike Schmidt.

    Walks don't drive in runs.

    I mean seriously.

I think most of them know there are 27 outs in a 9 inning game.

     Ghostdog,

You just gotta play the game right, give it your best, and leave it on the field.

BTW, 27 outs in 9 innings reminds me of Scott Podsednik's euphoric postgame interview after his WS GW HR in 2005 --  "We won two games, we have to win four games, so we just got to win two more games!"

You think Brewers pitching feels that way?  I bet it seems like more for them.

Yeah!  What does Mike Schmidt know about baseball with his MVP's and World Series Rings and what not!

Crazy ***!  It doesn't matter if you don't do the little things right, as long as you hit home runs!
