Karma check, it's Brett Myers....don't want the baseball gods to hand down an automatic LDS loss for mispelling the name of a right-handed junkballer!

Sabathia has been so consistently, unrealistically good that I keep waiting for the inevitable bad outing. Hopefully it will come for the Dodgers next year.

Let's also hope that the "bad Brett Myers" shows up, not the one who shut the Brewers down a few weeks ago. The Brewers DESPERATELY need to get some runs on the board early tonight.

Lineup is out - no surprises against a RHP:

    CF Mike Cameron
    2B Ray Durham
    LF Ryan Braun
    1B Prince Fielder
    SS JJ Hardy
    RF Corey Hart
    3B Craig Counsell
    C Jason Kendall
    P CC Sabathia

Fantastic point.  The prevailing trend in the numerous losses to the likes of CHI, PHI, NYM in the second half  of the season was getting behind early.  There were a few memorable bullpen blowups, but most of the time they were behind from the word "go".  This is a frontrunning team, also evidenced by how this team performed in series finales against those same teams after losing the first two games:  not well.

Score early, build momentum, let CC take over.

Let's hope it's the same for the rest of the series.

The only thing as good as a Brewer win is a Cubs loss.

No matter who is in there, we have to find a way to throw the ball better for us to have success. I think when you are constantly behind in games, it is not easy and it is not fun. Their starting pitcher was clearly better than ours this series.

I'd say score early and often and let CC rest.

That was me...brah.  I was celebrating the announcement that Phish is getting back together with some LSD Sushi.  I'm gonna trip balls.
Baseball is a game of the long season, of relentless and gradual averaging-out. Irrelevance—since the reference point of most individual games is remote and statistical—always threatens its interest, which can be maintained not by the occasional heroics that sportswriters feed upon but by players who always care; who care, that is to say, about themselves and their art. Insofar as the clutch hitter is not a sportswriter's myth, he is a vulgarity, like a writer who writes only for money.
