Why is making a recruit aware of a website a bad thing to you?  Is it because it'd involve the recruit being able to read?  I hear that's not a requirement in the south...

SEC quarterbacks are only required to read one thing that isn't required in the Big Ten........ DEFENSES!

    Another non-answer from "guru".  Shocking.

That and only using half of the quote.  But that's his style around here.

This is not HALF the quote.  This is the WHOLE quote.

"I know it's a great school. Initially I was pretty excited when they began to show some intere*** in me," Kaiser continued. "I really want to learn more about the program. Coach Chry*** told me about the school Web site and I did a little research on my own. I can't wait to go their and meet all the coaches to see what the atmosphere is like."

Just thought it would be a good time to update on this.  The above QB from St. Louis committed to SMU.  He had offers from UW, Colorado, and Colorado State.  Nothing overwhelming about his background...6-2".  Considered a "sleeper" whatever that means.  Perhaps he'll find success at SMU.   We may not be harboring elite QBs by any stretch (and this kid is not elite) but we have depth with some guys with promise in Phillips, Budmayr, and now Brennan.

However, another St. Louis area kid did mention his own academic research online...Warren Herring.

    Noted here from WSJ:

"Herring, who plans to major in biology, did his homework on UW. In addition to spending a lot of time on the Internet doing research on UW’s academic programs and rankings, he learned more while meeting with professors during an unofficial visit to Madison earlier this summer.

“I already knew they had a really good football team because I watch them on television, and I liked the coaching staff,” Herring said. “But academics were No. 1.”"

He backed out of an earlier verbal to KSU to come to UW.  That's weird.  What a horrible recruiting tool that damned internet can be.

I'm thinking goo roo has again grossly overstated the single quote from the QB and ignored what this kid said.  Bias is a terrible thing to be afflicted with.

I dub thee :   Bias Boy.

This kid doesn't sound too smart to me.  Did he watch the California Polytechnical College game last year?  Apprarently not.  How about the Michigan game last year?  Must not have.  Did he watch the Champs Sports Bowl against Florida State?  It doesn't sound like it.

He liked the coaching staff?  Ha.  Did he watch the Michigan State game from last year?  Has he heard the post game press conferences?

This kid may have the internet, but he obviously doesn't have the Satellite College Football Package because if he did actually watch all these games he'd never be talking as foolishly as he is.

Congratulations to the Badgers.  We recieved another 3 star recruit (to go along with 6 others) who read about us online and watched a few of our games and now used up one of our scholarships.  Woo hoo.  Take that Kansas State and Stanford!

Actually, Kaiser was a three star guy ranked by rivals.com as the 43rd rated pocket passer.

And if we'd have gotten him in.....you'd use the above to marginalize him.

    Hypocrite.

    Lame Bias.

Nope.  Simply referring to your comment that he was only a 1 star guy.

Let's see....the QB you thought needed more than website encouragement for the his academics is a 3-star Rivals.   He got offers from Colorado State, SMU, and Arkansas State (that's not the one in the SEC, pal) according to your source

The 3-star Rivals QB we DID get had offers from Iowa, Pitt, Miami, Rutgers, Stanford, and Vanderbilt.  Scout had him ranked 32 for the position...not just QB "type."

Just glad that we don't have experts like you on staff.  Laughably juvenile little ankle biter.

Several of our recruits, guys like Lewis haven't had their video reviewed by Scout. We should see their stars increase.

You may have also missed UW jumping 20 spots in the rankings, we are now #32 on Scout...all of this without a single new recruit. Who woulda ever guessed this wasn't an exact science?
