    Another Ugly loss

When the Brewers hit they can't pitch--when they pitch they can't hit--today was nothing but frustration--Cubs tried to give the game away and Brewers apparently didn't want it so the umpire said enough and gave it to the Cubs!

Again the Brewers cannot advance the runners and can't score runs

Don't worry about willis. He's being a douchebag because of the loss.

It was an ugly game, but they set themselves up with walking 2 batters at the end. If DiFalice actually works half hard on those 2 batters than Fox, he probably gets out of the inning. Just sloppy work.

WTF is this teams problem during day games?  Even Macha said, zero Sun, one Wed, one today.

They clearly are not well prepared.

No matter who is in there, we have to find a way to throw the ball better for us to have success. I think when you are constantly behind in games, it is not easy and it is not fun. Their starting pitcher was clearly better than ours this series.

I thought it was an awful call on the last pitch. The batter should be penalized for not swinging at such a close pitch in that situation. It was a clear case of playing to the home crowd. Just awful.  The umpire basically bailed out the batter.

Hard to call a strike there. There was perhaps one other pitch (to Theriot early) in the game that has been called a strike high and inside on that line there all game long. If its called a strike, the umpire bails out the pitcher.

Geddy, it was a strike.  No question, it was a strike.  But, because you're a defeatist, (and apparantly somewhat of a ***), you're going to swear up and down that it was not.  Take a look at the entire game on MLB.com, and you tell me what other pitches in that exact area were called.  It was a bailout call, and even Cubs' fans (which apparantly you are) will note that he should have been rung up.

Go ahead and reply, but it's not worth my time.

"You watch to make sure they're battling. If they're battling, you let them battle. There's nothing that I can do to control the game..." Thanks Nedly

See above. It is not that clear cut. Pitch #9 just isn't the perfect strike you think it is.

Zambrano's at bat in the 3rd: Ball 1

Lee's at bat in the 4th. Ball 1. Not as high, but on the line once again.

    Re: Another Ugly loss

It really is uncanny lately the way our offense goes on vacation while the pitching is good.

You cant blame it on the wind, Counsell, or even the horribly missed call to end the game.

You put 4 ducks on the pond with a full clip of outs.... you cannot afford to miss 3 times.

I understand that "this is baseball" and teams just have bad days, but over teh last 2 weeks our offense has been streakier than Hart's Career, Fielder excluded.

I dunno what gives, but the team certainly does NOT seem to be coming to the plate with ANY sense of urgency.

    News flash!

Umps use their eyes in real life, not a graphic representation of the call.

Stop trying argue about the call, as you wont change anyone's mind about it.

Fine, check out the real life view:

It sure isn't right down the center.
