geddymd72: See above. It is not that clear cut. Pitch #9 just isn't the perfect strike you think it is.
News flash!
Umps use their eyes in real life, not a graphic representation of the call.
Stop trying argue about the call, as you wont change anyone's mind about it.
Fine, check out the real life view:
It sure isn't right down the center.
But, the umpire said it was high, not inside, and there is no way it was too high. It was barely above the belt and clearly below the armpit.

God, you really are a miserable pile of s***, aren't you?
As my last post for awhile, I would just like to say that you are a cantankerous rat who shouldn't be allowed to be employed, married, have children or allowed to mingle with human society.
Yes, I'm negative, but I want the Brewers to win. Not only do you trash the Brewers (which I do, too, when I'm frustrated), but you LOVE when they lose, because you can tell everyone "I told you so." You're a stinking front-runner, the most pathetic species of human being on earth. You'd be back in England during the Bubonic Plague and say, "That's OK, personally I've always rooted for the rats."
You ARE a Cubs fan, jacka***. You're HAPPY that DiFelice and the Brewers got screwed. Anyone in their right mind knows that was a strike, but you have to sit here and defend it like you're Jake Fox himself. What a pathetic f***er you are.
Yeah, I may be negative, I may say things in the heat of the moment, but I'm NEVER happy when the Brewers lose like you are. I was livid over that call, just like I would expect all fellow Brewers fans to be. But you're not one.
You're a pathetic, stinking, front-running rat. F*** yourself.

shipitdear:(I see it as a ball btw).
How?
I mean, I get that the Crew lost the game in other ways, too, but that was a strike.

Give me a break pinning this loss on a borderline ball/strike call (I see it as a ball btw). The Brewers had a trillion chances to score several runs and blew it. This loss is squarely on the Brewer bats, not a pitch that could have been called a strike or a ball.
You said what I just said in the game thread without my irate babbeling. Nice job.

No doubt.
I'm not pinning the loss on that call. Absolutely, the Brewers had a zillion chances to score, and like always, they couldn't score because they couldn't hit a home run. Imagine if this team played at Petco Park? They might lose 95 games. Power is great, and I understand the virtues of SLG and OPS and all that, but in a game like this, you HAVE to be able to play some goddam situational baseball. Have to. Wind's blowing in, you're facing a tough pitcher, you gotta get some runs across with good situational hitting.
As Radio has said, this team is situationally horrendous, and that killed them today. Just killed them.
That said, a game should NEVER end on such an egregious blown call. Ever. It's a disservice to the players, and it's a goddam joke. Yeah, the Brewers probably still lose, because they may have gone another 20 innings without scoring, but an umpire should never blow a call like that in that situation. It was terrible.
Macha didn't seem to mind too much, though, did he?

I like you, shipit, but what are you watching that that's a ball? That was, without any question whatsoever, a strike.

Looked like a strike with every angle.
No matter who is in there, we have to find a way to throw the ball better for us to have success. I think when you are constantly behind in games, it is not easy and it is not fun. Their starting pitcher was clearly better than ours this series.

Agreed.
Like I said, was that the single thing that cost the Brewers the game? No. I mean, say, for example, that Hoffman was in with the bases loaded and a 1-run lead with 2 outs and the same thing happened and the Cubs tied it and went on to win. THAT would cost them the game single-handedly.
As shipit said, though, it was the inept offense that did them in.
Still, you should NEVER lose on a call like that. It's disgraceful for everyone involved.

Look, everyone has realize the Cubs will get a close call. MLB wants them in the playoffs for TV ratings. They will get the call. MLB is running a business and not a charity. Major market teams have always gotten the calls. It's a way of life. The Brewers simply can't put themselves in these kinds of situations to begin with.

You're a pathetic, stinking, front-running rat. F*** yourself. Get over it. Its a borderline call. Not a Cubs fan. They're the biggest pieces of crap in the league. Not happy as you so utterly assume. Its simply ridiculous at how predictable and inept this club is. We all saw it coming. On ball 2 of that count, we all were thinking DeFalice is going to walk in a run. The Brewers deserved this loss plain and simple. When they act like idiots like this, there some sense of justice to see them pay, but not to the gratification that you assume. When they play like sh*t like today, you have to just tell yourself "good, they played like garbage, and got the loss like they deserved". This is a team that never seems to learn. Games like this that blow up in their faces should turn on a little light in their heads.
Ty Cobb: "I believe I can truthfully say that I can hit equally well into either right or left field and generally at will. ... I will claim that when I am going right, I can drive four out of five fast balls within fifteen feet of where I want them to go."

Geddy has some points. The Brewers continue to make the same dumb mistakes - regardless of who's managing - and nothing gets done about it.
One thing Macha needs to do is start to hold guys accountable and he hasn't. That inning with bases loaded no one out was a joke.

I disagree. Put it in context, they're at Wrigley, DiFelice can't find the plate consistently, Fox has just fouled off off 4 pitches, he's in a crouch and Kendall looks like he's catching the ball up in the zone. It's a borderline call. If he gets rung up on that pitch he goes crazy and Pinella probably gets tossed and every Cubs' board is posting about how they got jobbed on that call. That is the definition of borderline. The Brewers should 100% own this loss, they earned it and it had nothing to do w/ the umpiring.

That's pretty solid strike for a borderline call. Across the letters, easily on the corner. Not even the black. The entire corner of the plate. That's a strike.
You can be upset that the Brewers lost the game, and be upset that the umpire blew the call. The umpire did blow the call, Macha out-thought himself in the final inning, and the offense was shut down by the Cubs.
