Re: OT: The dumbest Packers to ever play.
CheeseCityFan:The blaming of others was not what I remembered about Dilweg. That's not to say it couldn't have happened, but my first impulse, given what I know and I remember and how usually reliable it is, is to give me the benefit of the doubt
Yes. We are comparing you to the known liar. He made it up. Dilweg threw 7 interceptions and had a meager rating of 72 almost 20 seasons ago and we are to trust what Acehole remembered from an interview? \How old is Ace that he can remember this stuff? I'll say he was under 10. Additionally, the way that season went (Dilweg in and out of the lineup) it just wouldn't fit at all.
The judgment goes to: ......................................... Cheese City. Mr. Maverick, you'll be responsible for Mr. City's court costs (slam of the gavel)

Row 67 maybe you should be talking about cheesecityfan. He apprears to be the angry old man again. Notice hsi choice to call me names and insult me when all I was doing was sharing what I remember. I said nothing negative towards anyone. I simply gave my choice for the dumbest Packer ever in my opinion.
1) You called Dilweg an idiot. He wasn't. There's a big difference between being dumber than a pile of rocks and knowing what you're supposed to do but not getting it done on the field--for whatever reason.
2) You, of all people, judging that category? Really?
3) You made Duke an Ivy League school. Just fess up and admit that you don't know jack about most football trivia and I'll ease up on you.
Cheesecityfool, who cares if it was Duke, Princeton, or Yale. He played at a terrible football program. He never should have been drafted by the Packers The announcers before games would say what Dilweg lacks in Physcial Talent he makes up for with hit intelligence. Then the game would come and he would make some of the worst plays any Green Bay QB ever made. Unlike you, I dont google every post I make before I make it. All of us here could be superior Packer Historians if we wanted to we google everything we posted. Also I don't care to plagerize and steal stories from other message boards, blogs etc. I post from what I saw and remember and was a part of. Thats what real fans do. People looking for peronal gratification and attention post more like you do in my opinion.
You don't google and you don't spell check either.

Ken Stills should make the list.
Yes, and so should another illustrious product of the UW system, Gerry Ellerson. I believe he actually flunked out after his junior year. I played softball for Lotharios bar with these two jokers and Kenny seemed like a mensa member next to Ellerson. He couldn't speak, read or write. Funny guy though.

Gary Ellerson is now a radio talk show host in the Milwaukee area. Still can't speak!

Unfortunately, with Ken Stills, Gary Ellerson, and Brent Fullwood, the Forrest Gregg Era is well representated...I also nominate, Charles Martin, who could also double, with Stills, on the All-Thug team.

I played football (Miwaukee County A Rec League) against Stills, he would qualify as the smallest thug of all time;)

Another guy from those teams who wasn't exactly a mensa member was DLineman Donnie Humphrey.

Didn't he get kicked out of that league?

Going off-topic a second, CCF. Forrest Gregg is one of the most mysterious characters to come out of the Lombardi Era. Highly-efficient player, yet something mysterious, even menacing about him. Anybody written much about him? There must be, at least, a good article or two about the guy. With any luck, a book.

No help on the book muddy, but man, I loved the rivalry with the bears during the Gregg/Ditka era. You could tell that those two still absolutely hated each other from their playing days. Old time football.

Why do I read this goofy aceshit?
Why?
Gravedigger,
There are professionals with a couch in their office that can find an answer to your question. :-)
Perhaps it's your own personal attempt at a Mortification of the Intellect, if you will, Gravdigger.

I suggest we all ignore Ace and his inane posts. Maybe with any luck he'll get bored and find another forum to torment...
