Awesome!  Let's see how Parra does without Kendall advising him to nibble with every fucking pitch.

I just do not understand the Gamel situation.  I again say if you do not play him, send him down to AAA.  People bitching about him not looking good at the plate should understand that he is not getting regular ABs to stay sharp.  I have to believe that it is kind of hard as a young kid to not get regular ABs and then be expected to produce at a high level.

I dont get it either; why not give Hardy a day off and play Counsell at SS

I agree Gamel homered last night, RHer on the mound to day, wtf does he have to do to earn another start.

Wait for Casey McGehee to turn back into a pumpkin.  Gamel would probably have a few more starts if McGehee wasn't on a ridiculous hot streak.
Baseball is a game of the long season, of relentless and gradual averaging-out. Irrelevance—since the reference point of most individual games is remote and statistical—always threatens its interest, which can be maintained not by the occasional heroics that sportswriters feed upon but by players who always care; who care, that is to say, about themselves and their art. Insofar as the clutch hitter is not a sportswriter's myth, he is a vulgarity, like a writer who writes only for money.

People keep saying wait for CM to come back to reality, it isnt about CM or Gamel---Move CM to 2nd ---it is about Gamel and CC, hell give JJ a day off and put CC at ss.

    Rivera catching today

I know the majority of this board hates JK (he hit 282 in June), but be careful what you wish for:

    MIKE RIVERA SUCKS!!!

He hit a whopping 133 in June (granted only 15 AB's), but more importantly he is a BAD defensive catcher.

Remember the 14-12 game the Crew won in Cleveland, Rivera almost singlehandedly lost that game on defense (misplayed an easy throw from Braun on a play at the plate and had a passed ball that led directly to Clev runs). The gamethread that day had several comments about how bad Rivera was in that game.

I'd be happy as anyone if they were able to upgrade the C position via trade, but having Rivera playing more at the expense of Kendall is just not a good idea IMO

I'd rather see Gamel at third and McGehee at second. With his age and knee problem Counsell could use a day off after a night game and could be available for PH or defensive replacement duties later in the game.

I don't disagree, but I think they are still protecting McGehee's knees a little bit.

Dude, almost every team gives its starting catcher a day game off after a night game.

Kendall has been catching every dam day, and I think Rivera is a better fit for Parra, anyways.
