No Double dipping for the Packers under Aaron Rodgers..

I would always cheer when the Packers decided not to receive the opening kickoff to games.. why? so that they could "double dip"... meaning that Brett Favre was so talented running the 2 minute drill, that the Packers would score a touchdown.. and then get the ball back on the opening of the second half and then score again..

scoring twice without giving the ball back to the opponent.

well under Aaron Rodgers there is no double dipping.. why? because Rodgers has never had an opening second half drive for a touchdown.. NOT ONE..

go ahead true Believers.. defend that one..

Your rhetoric aside, and assuming your facts are correct, that is a pretty big indictment on the offense and McCarthy as well.

If halftime is about making adjustments, what does that say about the kind of job MM and Co. are doing during the intermission?

A bit alarming to say the least.

well if you read Deadard's blog.. he clearly points out that Rodgers is 0-23 for first drives after the half.

that alone should be enough to raise every RED FLAG in the building.

it also shows that the lack of head coaching material by McCarthy.. that he doesn't value "double dipping" like Holmgren did..

scoring twice without your enemy even touching the ball is an excellent way to take or keep the lead in a football game. You win a lot of games when you score twice and the other team can't even touch the ball.

I did not read the blog, but appreciate the info.  Just curious, did he indicate if McCarthy always chooses to receive when he wins the toss?  Is that why you say he doesn't value the "double-dipping"?  Or is he just terrible at executing it?

even if you don't "win the toss, " you can still double dip if you are on Defense first..

I never see McCarthy refuse the ball. the article never discusses it..

So please provide EVERYONE, YOUR plan to double dip.  Right now, if its such a problem, how would YOU fix it.

I have officially gotten of the MM bandwagon. It is now time to go ass wipe. If you take TT with you, it won't hurt my feelings one bit. This team needs a fresh start.

go ahead and tell us YOUR PLAN..

You wouldn't even know that this even existed.. until I posted it..

it was something discussed during a Packer game many years ago under Holmgren..

the bottom line is that you can't refute it, so you turn it against me.. instead of discussing the subject..

and you can't discuss the subject, because  ONE, it's proven that Rodgers hasn't scored one touchdown in 23 games after the half,, and two, you are limited in the amount of actual football knowledge and so you must try and attack the poster instead of being able to put any sort of brain matter on the thread..

which again.. just makes you what you are.. limited in scope..

and there is an easy FIX.. FIRE MURPHY, THOMPSON and MCCARTHY.. and  pay RON WOLF with a blank Check.. he is still living in Green Bay..

that will fix the problem in minutes..

First off, Ron Wolf isn't going to come back.  He has had several opportunities to come back, and has refused each time.

2nd how does firing ALL 3 right now improve the team.  You haven't brought any of your SO CALLED football knowledge to the table.  All you are saying is that they should be fired.

I don't just attack the poster, I attack those that sit on their soap box, and think that they are the Grand Pooba of Upper Butt Crack.

You don't have a clue how to run a football team, you are a failed radio guy who couldn't get it done.  In 2005 you clamored for the trade of Brett Favre, you said he was done, and that TT should get all he was worth for him.   Did you not?  Now you are clamoring that TT who did EXACTLY what you desired, screwed up.  Which one is it Toothy, which one were you for before you were against it.

Then in 2009 you clamored for the trade of Aaron Rodgers for Jay Cutler, saying that Cutler was VASTLY superior to Rodgers.  Remind me again how many playoff wins Cutler has?  Remind me also of what the Bears record is.  If anything, its a wash.

These are just two instances of you spouting off at the pie hole, just to make noise.    In both instances you were/are completely WRONG.

Even you, the ALMIGHTY Toothy gets em wrong.  Just like EVERY GM out there.

I have officially gotten of the MM bandwagon. It is now time to go ass wipe. If you take TT with you, it won't hurt my feelings one bit. This team needs a fresh start.

So firing the President, GM & Head Coach will suddenly make all the players play better? Wow, then I'm 100% behind your brilliant idea.

He doesn't have a clue.  He never has.

1st thing I would do to get Rodgers on track, and help out the offensive line, is to run a Pure West Coast offense.  Short passes, screens.  I wouldn't change the plays much.  Get a 3 step drop and get rid of the ball.  Build some confidence in the O line.

2nd run a no huddle at practice.  All the time for a week.  Get into the flow of a 2 minute drill all the time.  Put the onus on getting the ball out, working the sidelines, making quick choices, and getting the ball out fast.

If your offensive line stinks, then you have to do things to help them out.  Doing a 7 step drop, trying to throw a bomb isn't going to help.  Make Rodgers do laps for every sack he takes where he could have gotten the ball out.  Drill it into his head that sacks are the enemy.

I would like to see some naked boots, where he would just run with the ball.  Run for 6-7 yards, and then head out of bounds.  Really put the pressure on the D Line to hold up, and not be so aggressive with their pass rush.

I would get rid of the shotgun all together.

I completely agree with your first point. In 2007 they had no running game and used 5 wides and the true West Coast passing game. Their WR lead the league in YAC. Go back to the short passes and let Driver, Jennings & Jones run. When Jordy and Finley are back I would work in some 5 wides sets also. I also agree that they need to roll Rodgers out of the pocket more often. ARod is a good QB, give him a chance to prove it!

If your not going to do either of these things how about keeping a back or TE in to help in max protection on obvious passing downs. MM and the coaching staff need to be more creative to help this offensive line. And they need to do it soon. If not it will ultimately cost them their jobs & rightly so.

What Toothy doesn't get is none of us are happy with what we see each and every week. But our p!ssing and moaning isn't going to change anything. If they don't get things "cleaned up" then MM and his staff will be fired and replaced. Won't change the fact that I still be a Packer fan reguardless of who is the Coach, GM, President or QB!
