For some reason Corey Hart has a fan club here. No matter how badly he does, people will defend him. Of course he is not the only problem the team has had, but anyone who thought he was a adequate outfielder at the start of the year (and he had virtually no critics then) really doesn't understand baseball. The guy hit 20 ...

I'm using common sense here. Since they have no impact on Melvin, what is the point? The media is using his comments to sell papers. He'd rather concentrate on St.L no doubt.

It's all pretty predictable. A media manufactured "controversy" that today is on the front page of the MJS. Braun slipped with his comments, now regrets them no doubt, players could care less. Melvin looking to divert attention from his lack of action. Reporters looking to increase paper sales. But it amounts to nothing.

Again, people miss the main point. Braun is young and made an intemperate remark in the heat of battle. He certainly regrets it. But the main point is that the sports media loves this stuff and it's a media generated controvery. It makes the dog days of July rather interesting. Melvin's comments are motivated by hsi ...

You guys don't understand professional ball players. Here is fact: they hate and disrespect the media. If it's in the media, they assume it is a lie. Braun shot his mouth off without thinking because he's young and not too experienced with how things get reported. He'll just say he was misquoted (which is possible, the dimwits in ...

What Braun said was dumb but it was also insignificant. Professional players could care less what the media reports players saying. They play for the money and for individual records. Team chemistry is unnecessary and overrated anyway. Some players are friends, others can't stand each other. That's the way it is. Great teams ...

I just don't understand Braun's need to comment. He's not the GM. Melvin will make a deal or he won't and Braun's "opinion" will have no influence whatsoever. So what was he thinking? I suspect that a lot of ballplayers talk now and think later and realize they said something silly. What was his goal in ...

Speaking of the 4th, it is great that 3 of 4 Wimbleton finalists are Americans. This gives me the chance to maybe state the obvioius but the Williams sisters are one of the greatest stories in sports history. Think of the odds of having 1 child in professionals sports, let alone 2. Then what are the odds that one will be in the top 1-5 ...

I don't know why this is so difficult. All of these things are true:
(a) The Brewers offense played poorly
(b) The Brewers' manager set his pitcher up to fail by taking his approach away from the strike zone, and willfully walking two consecutive batters.
(c) It was a blown ...
No no my friend. The offense had set the table numerous times for themselves. THE OFFENSE WAS SHUT DOWN BY THE BREWERS A
ND THE OFFENSE LOST THE GAME.
Yes, but we shut down their ...
