Yes, there are differing stories from various sides. Bottom line is that 80% of the people there still have nothing 15 years after democratic elections.

Great thread on Rhodes, as well as everything else. Interesting comment on the need for tough, hardnosed football and the lack of "fire and drive" that led Wolf to let Rhodes go. Thank you CCF as usual.

Gilly, what were you doing in Nigeria? I've spent some time in South Africa and a good friend there is Nigerian--a wonderful man. What with the civil wars, malaria and HIV they stand to lose a third of their population unless something changes.
