GB fans are lucky to have a radio man as professional and adept as Wayne Larrivee, combining a smooth sound with a wonderful Packers' bias (which is music to this fan's ears). He's been a fitting successor to Jim Irwin. Here's hoping Wayne's tenure is a long as Jim's.

Taken in isolation, I don't find much to like about this deal. The detractors of the move have catalogued my concerns throughout this thread, so I won't recapitulate that litany. However, this deal might make more sense if it is part of a larger strategy that has yet to play out.

Wahle and Rivera were inside guys, Lang and Barbre play on the edges. When tackles can't pass block, the issues are magnified (hence the reason Wahle was moved inside when he flopped at LT). GB can't afford to have DEs whipping around the ends and making hits on Rodgers. Lang and Barbre might improve, so I am not suggesting they give up ...

I heard an interesting discussion this morning: Even if PHL loses the Series, is Utley the MVP?
To this point, he seems to be the most impressive player. But if NY closes the deal, I suppose Rivera might be the choice.
